SCHOFIELD, Wis. (WSAU) — The DC Everest School District will have more changes in its athletic programs this fall. A statement from the district offices Thursday confirms that Athletic Director Lee Ann Kitchell will not continue in that capacity much longer. The statement says Kitchell will return to the classroom as a Learning Disabilities teacher at D.C. Everest Junior High this fall, but will not manage the athletics department after the summer wraps up.
This comes after the recent removal of boys basketball coach Cory Heckel by the school board. Heckel will continue as a teacher in the district.
Neither Kitchell or the district have said if Kitchell’s departure is because of Heckel’s dismissal.
