UNDATED (WXPR) — Beware rapidly rising rivers, flowages and streams as the unusually warm and wet weather is causing an early March run off.
Wisconsin Public Service spokesperson Leah Van Zile says anyone recreating on or near the waters should be extremely cautious. “When the ground is still frozen, warmer weather that is accompanied by the rainfall could significantly increase the river flows. The water runoff can increase rapidly, so anybody enjoying sports around the rivers should be aware of the forecasted weather and river conditions.”
Wisconsin Public Service has a series of dams along the heavily used Wisconsin River.
VanZile says they have uptotheminute information on their website.
