MEDFORD, Wis (WSAU) — Donald Trump’s son Eric made a swing through western and central Wisconsin on Thursday, including a visit with locals at a popular pizzeria in Medford.
“The enthusiasm around Wisconsin has been absolutely incredible,” Trump said. “Everywhere we go we have hundreds and hundreds of people who are showing up, and people want their country back. We’re going to make America great again.”
Even though his dad is trialing Hillary Clinton in the latest Wisconsin polls, Trump said momentum is on their side and he predicted a win. “We’re gonna win Wisconsin on Tuesday. There’s so much enthusiasm. There’s so many people coming out, saying ‘I’m sick and tired of Washington D.C., and I’m thrilled to have a business man who can go in there and take care of business.’ And I have so many people who also say ‘listen, I’ve never voted before and we’re coming out 100% for your father.’”
Several hundred people showed up for the Trump stop in Medford to hear him talk about the issues. “Obamacare premiums are going up, up, up. They’re costing people so much money.” According to Trump, “We pay the highest taxes of any nation in the world. We’ve got a crippled military. We’re not only gonna win Wisconsin, we’re going to win the White House, and we’re going to have a great man in there.”
Trump also took a few jabs at Hillary Clinton, who he painted as one of the D.C. Establishment. “Hillary Clinton’s been a politician longer than I’ve been alive, it’s kind of hard to believe! And look at the state of our country!”
Senator Ron Johnson campaigned with Trump through the day, including earlier stops in Hudson, Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls.
