MARSHFIELD, Wis (WSAU) — The deer-gun hunting season is just around the corner; and this Saturday hunters will have the chance to sight in their rifles at the Marshfield Police Department’s shooting range.
That’s according to Marshfield Police Lt. Pat Zeps, who says it promotes hunter safety, and there’ll even be a firearms instructor on hand. “It’s a great place to sight it in. It’s a safe place and we like the fact that we can provide range officers out there that are state certified to assist with anybody, help them sight in, kind of monitor safety practices. And it’s just a service we like to provide if we can.”
The main thing to remember, Zeps says, is that “It’s a bring your own ammo type of deal because there’s so many different calibers out there. So, that would be something to let people know too.”
You can sight in those hunting rifles on Saturday, November 12th, between the hours of 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM. You can get to the police firing range by heading west of Marshfield on County Trunk Y, turning right on either Falcon or Robin Road, and then heading left on Lincoln-Spencer Road until you see the firing range sign.
