WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – A 29-year-old Wausau woman set up online ads for a young woman who offered sex to an undercover police officer for money, according to a criminal complaint obtained by WAOW Newsline 9.
Jamilah Broomfield was charged with two felony counts of solicitation of prostitutes as a repeat criminal. A judge Tuesday ordered her jailed on a $10,000 signature bond.
According to Wausau police, Broomfield was using an advertisement for female escorts on the website backpage.com. Arrangements were made to meet a prostitute Sept. 28 at the Plaza Motel in Wausau, and in an exchange of text messages, the police offered $200 for an hour with a woman going by the name Autumn. She responded and said she was bringing contraceptives.
The 23-year-old prostitute was arrested and she gave up Broomfield as the creator of the advertisement. A different woman questioned for prostitution said she had a “date” for sex Sept. 28 that paid her $150 and $75 was to be given to Broomfield, also known as Jamilah Solomon.
Broomfield faces up to 10 years in prison on each felony count.
