WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Northcentral Technical College will encourage students to take more interest in sciences this weekend by hosting one of the top demonstration teams in the nation Saturday during their Science & Engineering Festival.
The Michigan Tech Mind Trekkers will be the featured attraction of the festival, according to Craig Stancher, Marketing Coordinator for NTC.
“They have all of these fun little experiments that range in length from 30 seconds to three minutes, and when that experiment is concluded, then they kind of explain the science or the technology behind it,” said Stancher. “Not only are the students learning, they’re actually having a lot of fun while they’re learning.”
About 50 graduate and undergraduate students make up the Mind Trekkers. They are the main event, but Stancher says that’s not all you’ll see at the festival.
He said, “There’s also a number of local exhibitors, local manufacturing companies that will be having tables at the event. There’s music, and a lot of our manufacturing labs will be open. People can come and check out our welding lab, machine tool lab, and our brand new graphic communications lab.”
The event is free to attend and goes from 9am to 3pm tomorrow on NTC’s Wausau campus.
