MARSHFIELD, Wis (WSAU) — The 53rd Annual Wisconsin Fur Trappers State Rendezvous starts Friday in Marshfield and continues through Saturday, and Marshfield Convention and Visitors Bureau director Matt McLean says the event’s expected to be a big economic boost to the area.
“People come from all over the state, and out of state, to come to the show,” McLean said. “There’s up to 300 vendors that sell trapping, they sell furs, they sell related activities to hunting and trapping. We typically get 2,000 to 3,000 visitors. Definitely hundreds and hundreds camping at the fairgrounds, and also filling the hotels in Marshfield.”
According to McLean, besides attracting avid hunters and trappers, the show provides unique entertainment for the general public, including the kids. “There’s a lot of actual demonstrations, there’s education, and they have different games and activities for kids. So it’s a great event to check out. Marshfield is very proud to have hosted it in the past, and we hope to get a lot of people down to the fairgrounds to check it out.”
You can catch the Trappers Rendezvous Friday and Saturday at the Central Wisconsin Fairgrounds in Marshfield.
