JUMP RIVER, WI (WSAU) — The Taylor County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed the death of a woman after a one-car crash Sunday morning.
27-year-old Sarah Scollay was a passenger in a 2001 BMW SUV when its driver, 28-year-old John Chilar, hit an embankment and went airborbne around 9:35 a.m. Scollay was ejected from the SUV and was pronounced dead at Aspirus – Medford. Chilar was taken to the same hospital.
Chilar was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash and was also driving with a suspended driver’s license. He’s been charged with operating while suspended causing death.
