WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — A motel clerk’s tip helped police find methamphetamine and heroin that was hidden under a mattress and $1,000 from two people staying in that room.
Both 34-year-old Natasha Eldridge and 30-year-old James Jones have been charged with 3 felonies, being party to possession with intent to deliver heroin, being party to possession of methamphetamine, and being party to maintaining a drug trafficking place.
A clerk at the Super 8 hotel on the west side of Wausau called police just before 2am Wednesday. He believed drug activity was taking place in room 210 because of the number of people that were being let into the back door of the hotel and then entering that room.
Jones let 3 officers enter the room where they found used syringes and drugs under the mattress. Both Jones and Eldridge initial denied ownership of the drugs before Jones stated that he would take responsibility.
A $10,000 signature bond was set for Eldridge with the first $3,000 in cash and a $5,000 signature bond was set for Jones.
Eldridge was currently on probation for an unrelated felony conviction when she was arrested.
