STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) – A Tigerton woman is charged with a drunk driving homicide after crashing her car into a motorcycle. 29-year-old Billie Jo McSherry crossed the center line on Highway 49 in the Town of Alban on the afternoon of July 8. She hit an oncoming motorcycle driven by Robert Korhonen. He was airlifted from the scene but died en route to the hospital. A passenger on the motorcycle was seriously injured.
A criminal complaint in Portage County Court says McSherry told police that she took full responsibility for her actions. A police report says she told officers, “It was my fault. Take me to jail.” Court records say her blood alcohol level was nearly .30, four times the legal limit. She has two prior OWI convictions

A 9-year-old girl was in McSherry’s vehicle. She suffered minor injuries.
McSherry is being held on $350,000 bond. She appeared in Portage County Court via a video-link on Monday. She’ll be arraigned on August 7.
