TOWN OF WAUSAU (WSAU-WAOW) An early morning car crash caused about 300 customers to lose power according Wisconsin Public Service and the Marathon County Sheriff’s department.
Officials say the crash involved one vehicle. It happened just after 2:30 am on County Highway Z in the Town of Wausau.
The driver left the road and struck a power pole. An investigation shows the driver was impaired at the time of the crash. The driver was arrested for OWI. He was not seriously injured. His name won’t be released until formal charges are filed.
Wisconsin Public Service crews had power restored a few hours later.
