WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — On Thursday, May 4th, the Everest Metro Police Department was notified of a body found in water just off shore behind the residence in the 700 block of Country Club Road in Schofield.
The Wausau Police Department was notified after the body was determined to be male. The Wausau Police Department has been looking for Michael Bujanowski since January 24th.
The Wausau Police Department worked with the Everest Metro Police Department, Schofield Fire Department, and the Marathon County Medical Examiner’s Office to recover the body. Authorities noticed similarities between the clothing recovered on the body and Bujanowski.
On Friday an autopsy was preformed in Madison. The results are expected to be known by Sunday. The family of Bujanowski was informed of the possibility of Michael’s body being found on Thursday. The family is asking for privacy at this time.
