THORP, WI (WSAU-WAOW) Three people were hurt Wednesday in a crash on Highway 29 near Thorp.
The Clark County Sheriff’s Department says they got a call about the crash just after 12:30pm involving three vehicles at the County Road M overpass on Highway 29. An eastbound flatbed truck was rear-ended by a semi.
57-year-old Albert Brick of Chippewa Falls was driving the flatbed and 55-year-old John Brick was a passenger. 28-year-old Kyle McNeil of Iowa was driving the semi.
When Brick’s truck was hit, it spun into the north guardrail and flipped onto the driver’s side. Large bails of hay fell onto the roadway below as a result of the crash.
One of the bales fell onto a truck driven by 83-year-old Orville Manier of Stanley. He’s been hospitalized in serious condition.
John Brick was air lifted to the Mayo Hospital, officials said. Albert Brick had minor injuries.
CTH M was blocked for several hours, officials said. The eastbound lanes of STH 29 were also blocked for several hours due to the accident.
