FAIRBANKS, WI (WSAU) There was a fatal crash early Sunday morning on Highway 45 in Shawano.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office says a car left the road, went into the ditch, and hit a telephone pole around 1am near Menzel Road in the Town of Fairbanks.
The driver, 21-year-old Joshua Pingel from Bowler, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 24-year-old passenger, Jordan Reinke of Tigerton, was taken to Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Reinke’s condition is not known.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
