MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) — The Boson Company, Inc. of Marshfield has received a “Build Wisconsin” award for their work on the Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library and Community Center.
Boson’s project coordinator, Joe Dolezal, says the award from the “Associated General Contractors of Wisconsin” is for the design and construction of a building that promotes learning, civic engagement, and enrichment for people of all ages.
“The parking lot is full all the time, Saturday, Sunday,” Dolezell said of the new library. “The doors are opening and closing non-stop. After school the kids are there, and it was a great community effort to have such a structure within our area.”
The award was also given in large part to recognize the unique fundraising effort that was involved to make the project a reality. More than 50% of the funds used for the $7-million dollar library and $2-million dollar Community Center were raised through private donations from Marshfield residents.
The Associated General Contractors of Wisconsin presented that award at their AGC BUILD Wisconsin Awards Ceremony Thursday night in Wisconsin Dells.
