MERRILL, WI (WSAU) — Information technology (IT) students in northcentral Wisconsin can apply for a scholarship to cover 100% of their tuition and guarantee themselves a job after graduation.
Church Mutual Insurance is teaming with Northcentral Technical College to offer their IT Scholars Program. The students selected will work part-time for Church Mutual in their IT department while attending school at NTC, and have the opportunity to transfer to a four-year school to earn their bachelor’s degree. If they do, they’ll be hired by Church Mutual out of college.
Three students are already part of the program, and applications are being taken for the 2018-2019 academic year. Students must have maintained at least a 3.0 GPA in high school to qualify.
“We thank Church Mutual for providing this opportunity to IT students at NTC,” said Chris Severson, Dean of Business and Community Services at NTC. “The IT Scholars Program not only gives financial support to our local talent, it keeps our skilled workforce employed in the area.”
