MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) — Plans to develop a “campus master plan” for the Central Wisconsin State Fairgrounds in Marshfield are moving forward.
That’s according to Justin Casperson, Parks and Rec. Director for the City of Marshfield, who says MSA Professional Services will do the study which was prompted by some recent construction at the fairgrounds.
“This campus plan proposal is a condition of the construction of the Wenzel Family Stage and the horse barns that were located on the fairgrounds property,” Casperson explained. “A conditional use permit was issued that required development of this campus master plan for those two projects. And so we’re hoping to get that completed by April of 2018.”
Marshfield’s Common Council approved a transfer of just over $9,000 for the study, which will be shared between the city’s Department of Development Services, the Marshfield Park and Recreation Department, the Central Wisconsin State Fair, and the Fairground’s Commission.
That master plan will guide future growth at the fairgrounds which is home to the Central Wisconsin State Fair, as well as a wide variety of other events throughout the year.
