RHINELANDER, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — The case against Robin Mendez will officially go to a Rhinelander courtroom next spring.
The 69-year-old Minocqua man accused of killing his wife Barbara in 1982 had a jury trial scheduled for April 8th, 2019. According to WAOW TV, the trial is set to run for 15 days.
Mendez entered a not guilty plea to the charges last Spring.

Mendez has long been a person of interest in the case but has denied that he hit his wife with a blunt object in the bank where she worked. Officials with both the local police and Sheriff’s office in Oneida county worked with producers from a reality TV series specializing in cold cases last winter, re-interviewing witnesses to build the case.

Barbara Mendez died of multiple blunt-force injuries to the head. An autopsy determined she was hit with some kind of pry bar; however, a murder weapon was never found.
