TOWNSHIP OF YORK, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — One person has died following an officer-involved shooting in the Clark County Township of York this weekend.
WAOW News 9 reports the incident happened late Friday night when officers were attempting to stop a person wanted for a felony warrant. A high-speed chase ensued which officers were able to end with stop sticks.
After the suspects vehicle was disabled he got out of the car and began shooting at officers. A Sheriff’s deputy and Loyal police officer fired back, and the suspect was hit and rushed to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
No officers were injured in the incident. The officer involved has been placed on paid administrative leave, which is standard for such incidents.
