STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) The UWSP mens basketball team beat Platteville on the road Saturday night 67-55. Joe Ritchay led the Pointers with 18 points and 10 rebounds for his second career double-double.
Three other Pointers joined Ritchay in double figures. Austin Ryf hit three three-pointers on the way to 14 points, Stephen Pelkofer added 13 and Sean McGann had 10 off the bench.
The Pointers, now 18-4,12-1 in WIAC, will host Whitewater on Wednesday night
The UWSP womens basketball team shot 51% from the field but it wasnt enough Saturday night as they dropped their matchup with Platteville 72-69 at Berg Gym. DC Everest grad Lauren Anklam led the Pointers with 20. Allie Miceli had a double-double with 13 points and 11 boards.
The Pointers, now 11-11, 6-7 in WIAC, will travel to Whitewater on Wednesday night.
Lawrence Cornellier scored 47 seconds into overtime to complete a two-goal third period comeback for the #3 ranked UWSP mens hockey team beat Stout 3-2 Saturday night at KB Willet Arena. Joe Kalisz and Eliot Grauer scored in the 3rd to send the game to OT.
The Pointers, now 17-4,8-1 in WIAC, will face UW-Eau Claire Friday and Saturday at Hobbs Ice Arena in Eau Claire.
The UWSP womens hockey team handed Adrian College their first loss of the season 2-1 Saturday afternoon at Ice Hawks Arena. Hannah Smith scored on a rebound midway through the 3rd period which turned out to be the eventual game winner.
Kat Nejedio had the other goal in the first period. Janna Bielke-Skoug had 22 saves.
The Pointers will close out the regular season with a pair of WIAC games Hosting Superior on Friday and Saturday.
