UNDATED (WSAU) — Mike Wiza and Jerry Moore will face each other in the April Stevens Point mayoral election after surviving the primary Tuesday.
The three aldermen running for mayor finished ahead of other challengers. Wiza had more votes than everyone else combined, with 1,491 votes. Moore finished with 368, Tony Patton had 290 votes.
Businesswoman Barb Jacobs had 187 votes. Bob Larson had 105 votes. Withdrawn candidate Alex Kochanowski still received 38 votes. There were 14 write-ins.
There were also three aldermanic primary races in Stevens Point. In District five, Allen Rasmussen, Jr and Bryan Van Stippen advanced to the spring election. District nine incumbent Randy Stroik and Mary McComb will be on the April ballot. Barb Jacob also ran for this seat, and was eliminated here, as well.
In District 11, there was a tie for second between Lloyd Graff and Jeff Presley, eight votes behind leader Shaun Morrow.
