WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) — One of the two men charged in a drug sting connected with the former Paradox Bar has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
43-year-old Tim Kleinschmidt faces four charges in the case, including possession with intent to deliver marijuana, psilocin and cocaine, and conspiracy to deliver marijuana.
Police say 44-year-old Scott Kurzynski made plans with an undercover informant back in September to purchase high-grade marijuana for distribution at the Paradox, setting up contracts to bring in 100 pounds of marijuana a month over two years. While making the payments for the drugs, Kleinschmidt was caught leaving the exchange point and was later arrested at his home. A police search there turned up a number of other drugs and several ATMs with marijuana inside them that were used to transport drugs.
Kleinschmidt will be back in court for a status conference May 29.
Kurzynski is due back in court for a status conference April 14.
Wausau city officials have since revoked the bar’s license.
