UNDATED (WSAU-Wheeler News Service) — Dane County authorities have released the name of a central Wisconsin man who died from carbon monoxide in a camper at the Midwest Horse Fair in Madison. The county medical examiner’s office said today that 61-year-old Lloyd Taylor of Junction City died at a Milwaukee area hospital, where he was initially taken for treatment.
Taylor was one of two people who got sick in a camper just outside Madison’s Alliant Energy Center on April 17th. Officials said a generator in the camper was most likely the cause.
A spokesman for the horse fair said a vendor noticed that some horses were not being cared for — and rescuers were called to check on the horses’ owners who were in the camper.
Officials have not disclosed the condition of the second person who was overcome.
