(Milwaukee, WI) — The Milwaukee Brewers have exercised their option to keep veteran first baseman Adam Lind for next season. He had a solid year for the Crew after being traded from Toronto a year ago. Lind batted .277 with 20 homers, 32 doubles, 87 R-B-Is, and an .820 on-base plus slugging percentage.
It’s possible that general manager David Stearns would trade the 32-year-old Lind at some point, considering that the Brewers are in a re-building mode. But for now, Stearns says he’s happy to exercise the option — and he agrees that Lind has done well.
The Brewers do have a younger first baseman waiting in the wings, 27-year-old Jason Rogers.
