WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (WSAU) — A Nekoosa woman accused of causing the death of a motorcyclist while texting and driving was in court Monday. 29-year-old Jessica Hendricks faces charges of 2nd degree reckless homicide for causing a crash July 25th that killed Scott Carlson.
Carlson’s motorcycle and Hendricks’ car collided at Highway 173 near Kimball Avenue at about 10 o’clock that night, leaving Carlson dead at the scene. The two drivers lived together. Hendricks was following Carlson to drop off the motorcycle at another location when she rear-ended the cycle.
Hendricks is currently free on a $50,000 dollar signature bond for this case. She also has to submit a DNA sample. Herndricks will be back in court January 22nd for a preliminary hearing and arraignment before Judge Gregory Potter.
