MADISON, WI (WSAU) The Wisconsin men’s hockey came close again but couldn’t close the deal in a 2-1 loss to Penn State on Friday night at the Kohl Center.
Tommy Olczyk scored the eventual game winner at the 7:04 of the second period.
The Badgers had several good scoring chances turned away by Penn State goalie Eamon McAdam. They also pulled their goaltender and had a flurry of chances in the final 60 seconds. Luke Kunin had tied the game in the first period with an assist from Cameron Hughes.
Adam Miller 28 saves for the Badgers.
Wisconsin is now 6-17-8, 1-12-4 in the Big Ten, and will host Penn State again tonight. Pre game at 6:30 on WSAU.
