MARSHFIELD, Wis (WSAU) – State Representative Bob Kulp travels across the 69th Assembly District on Thursday as he holds a series of listening sessions in Abbotsford, Neillsville, and Marshfield. “We have three listening sessions planned, and I’m really looking forward to listening to what’s on the minds of the folks in central Wisconsin,” Kulp said.
According to Kulp, he never knows who will show up and even though the sessions aren’t always big, they are always interesting. “We don’t typically have a lot of people that come out, but we have enough people with enough issues and ideas of ways to solve problems, which is always what we’re looking for in the State Legislature. If the business crowd comes out, the conversation will likely revolve around workforce development issues. If it is the senior community, of course they have their own challenges. But again, I’m looking forward to listening to the great people of the 69th district.”
Kulp also says he never knows for sure what he’ll hear during the hour long sessions, but very often it’s one of the hot topics of the day. “On occasion we’re surprised, but quite often things kind of follow what the media is talking about, and that’s what becomes important to the people of the state.”
Those listening sessions begin at 9:00 Thursday morning at the Abbotsford City Hall, 203 N. First Street; at the American Legion on Boon Boulevard in Neillsville at 11:00 a.m., and at 1:00 this afternoon at the Marshfield Area Chamber of Commerce at 700 S. Central Avenue. The events are free and the public is encouraged to attend.
