WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) — Many family members, friends, and former co-workers are helping a long-time Wausau weatherman get through a personal storm. Long time WAOW television forecaster Sean Cronin has endured some complicated health problems since leaving his television weather duties. Cronin told long-time co-worker Melissa Langbehn Friday that he has a condition called acute muscle infarction, which affects the lower quads of the legs and is very painful.
Cronin has already had his right leg amputated, and has been hospitalized many times.
His many health issues have also left his family in tough financial shape. That’s why a fundraiser has been organized in Weston Sunday by several businesses and K-Tech Charities. It’s called, “Sean Cronin: Weathering The Storm” and will be held at Dale’s Weston Lanes from noon until about 4:00 p.m. There will be bowling discounts, a silent auction, a regular auction, plus a country band and a polka band. One of the auction items comes from a famous rock and roll band. Sean’s brother Kevin Cronin is the lead singer for REO Speedwagon, and there is a guitar signed by Kevin and his band mates.
More information can be found at the K-Tech Charities website.
