EVERYTHING EVERGREENS (FOX SPORTS WAUSAU-WSAU) – Rain, sleet and cold didn't bother the Everest girls soccer team in a 7-0 win over Marshfield yesterday. They've won all five of their Wisconsin Valley Conference games this season by a combined score of 32-0. Krista Koenig scored the 5th, 6th, and 7th goals of the match. Marshfield managed only two shots on goal, one resulting in a nice save by Kayla Rogan who tipped a high ball over the crossbar.
Everest softball bounced back nicely with a 10-0 win over Wisconsin Rapids. Amanda Gajewski pitched a perfect game, struck out 12, and hit a home run. Not a bad afternoon.
Because of a rain-out on Monday the DC Everest baseball team is playing for the first time in a week Friday afternoon at Rhinelander (5-3). It's Derek Reiche's turn to pitch in the rotation, but everyone is available for the start. The game will be a tape delay broadcast at 7pm on AM-1390 FM-93.9.
