WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) — A former church youth mentor has pled guilty in Marathon County Court to two amended charges of child enticement and one charge of false imprisonment.
24-year-old Zachary Zahl was a volunteer at Wausau’s Immanuel Baptist Church in 2012 when he duct-taped the hands of an eighth-grader that he was acquainted with and undressed him.
He was also accused of making another teenager lay in the snow naked after getting out of a hot tub and putting him into the trunk of his car still unclothed, but the charges from that incident were dropped as part of a plea deal.
Zahl will be sentenced on October 18th.
