GREEN BAY, Wis. (WSAU) — One of the Green Bay Packers’ most valuable targets won’t be on the practice field Tuesday.
According to multiple reports, wide receiver Jordy Nelson will begin the preseason on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list. Team officials have consistently said that they would be careful with Nelson’s return from his torn ACL injury that put him on the shelf for all of the 2015 campaign.
Nelson can be activated at any time during the preseason if the Packers feel that he’s ready. Along with Nelson, receiver Ty Montgomery, linebacker Sam Barrington, new tight end Jared Cook, guard T.J. Lang, and center Corey Linsley have PUP status. The players still count against any roster limits.
