UNDATED (WSAU) — The Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) Foundation will be offering scholarships for high school seniors whose parents are WPS customers and are planning on attending technical college as a full-time student.
Karmen Lemke is an Administrator with the WPS Foundation and explains why they’re offering this for technical college students.
“We have very good partnerships with these schools,” Lemke said. “We have workforce needs that these schools are helping us train our future workforce for. And, again, want to encourage students to seek their higher education goals.”
Lemke on the type of students they’re looking for when it comes to this scholarship.
“It would be for students that have a track record of high academic achievement, involvement in their school and their community, and also potentially if they high financial needs,” she said.
Students have until April 15th to apply for the scholarship. Lemke says guidance councilors will be able to help students with the application process. She says they hope to announce the winners at the end of April or early May.
