Congrats to Vince Biegel. How many young Wisconsin kids dream of putting on the green and gold? And how many get to do it? The list isn't large. Names you would recognize include Jared Abbrederis, Mark Tauscher, Don Davey, Bill Ferrario, Ken Bowman and Randy Wright. There are those national pundits who look at this as the hometown team appeasing their fans but they would be wrong. Biegel is one of those guys that will surprise folks who aren't paying attention. He can play at the NFL level and brings an energy and high motor that can be infectious. We will have to see how training camp goes as to whether he will start on special teams or will be let loose on the defense. Lets hope he can stay healthy and wreak havoc on opposing quarterbacks for quite some time.
This sounds like something out of a science fiction movie. It seems that neurosurgeons in Italy and China are ready to perform the first head transplant. An Italian surgeon was ready to do it but his patient has had some setback that will not allow it. So it looks like the first one will be done in China where (and I kid you not) they say 'Its much easier to get a Chinese donor”. ummm…yeah…to my doctor friends…is this real or a put-on? It sounds like something you would read in The Onion”.
How bout Anthony Rendon of the Washington Nationals. He went 6-6 with three home runs and 10 rbis as tghe Nats beat the Mets 23-7 on Sunday. Yikes…thats a good month for some guys.

Had a great time at the Richie Furay concert on Saturday night. His voice is still really good and he had a couple of his buddies plus his daughter singing harmony. He did alot of the Buffalo Springfield hits, some early Poco stuff and some new stuff that was solid as well. The Thrasher Opera House in Green Lake is one of those classic old buildings that are perfect for intimate shows like this. Good stuff!
Songs Of The Day- at the Furay concert Saturday night I had a random encounter with a former pop hitmaker. By friend Brian Rust was at the show and he brought his buddy from Madison Kyle Henderson who was the bass player/singer in the 80's band The Producers. Here are three almost perfect slices of early 80's power pop
