WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The Wausau Region Chamber of Commerce has opened nominations for their 3rd annual Manufacturing Excellence Awards.
The award is a way to highlight the work that local manufacturers do to help the local economy. Brian Otten, the Marketing Manager for the Wausau Region Chamber of Commerce talks about why the Chamber has given out the award in recent years. “It’s a great way to recognize and celebrate area manufacturers that demonstrate excellence in a variety of areas. Those include contributions in growing the region’s economy, operations, innovation, workplace culture, quality jobs, supply chain management and commitment to the region,”
The awards for the two different companies will be given out in October as it is Wisconsin’s manufacturing month. Otten says the award is part of the Chamber’s celebration of Wisconsin’s Manufacturing Month. The Manufacturing Excellence Awards will recognize a recipient in both a small- to medium-sized manufacturer category and a large manufacturer category.
The process to nominate a manufacturer has been made easy by the Region Chamber of Commerce. A link is up on the homepage of the Wausau Region Chamber of Commerce to fill out the nomination form. Nominations are being accepted until 3 pm on Friday, August 17th.
The Chamber will host an awards’ ceremony honoring the manufacturers from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 16 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Rib Mountain.
