MADISON, Wi (MetroSource-WSAU) Wisconsin receiver Quintez Cephus announced via Twitter he will take a leave of absence from the program.
Cephus cited possible legal charges filed against him from an April incident. The legal or criminal charges are not yet known. He says he is innnocent of the inferred charges.
The Madison Police Department said it is waiting on further decisions from the district attorney’s office before commenting.
Paul Chryst and team officials will not comment until charges are filed which could happen today. Cephus won’t be covered by the University’s student-athlete discipline policy unless he is arrested or charged.
