STEVENS POINT, Wi (WSAU) The 2nd ranked UWSP mens hockey team won their opener 4-2 over Aurora on Friday night at KB Willet Arena.
Kelly O’Brien scored just over a minute into the game. Other goals were scored by Logan Fredericks, TJ Roo and Luke McElhenie.
Conner Ryckman had 22 saves in the win. The Pointers host Trine College tonight.
The UWSP womens hockey teaqm beat St. Olaf 4-1 on Friday night in Northfield Minnesota.
Goals were scored by Dani Heitsman, Cara Lemirande, Sophie Regovic and Alex Grubbs. Sydney Conley had 23 saves in the victory.
The two teams play again this afternoon.
The UWSP football team will celebrate Senior Day with the final home game vs Oshkosh at Goerke Field today at 1pm.
