WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A man was sentenced today for stealing a car and sending police on a high-speed chase back in October of 2017.
Mark Eliopulos of Waterford will spend two years in prison and three years on extended supervision in a Wisconsin state prison. He already has 340 credited days of jail time.
Eliopulos stole an SUV from a Subway with a grandma and infant still inside. Eliopulos dropped off the passengers a few blocks away and then led police on a high-speed chase to Waushara County. He was eventually arrested by Wisconsin State Patrol as the vehicle’s OnStar service was able to track the vehicle.
Eliopulos was initially charged with four felonies but a jury in May found him guilty of only car theft. He already is sentenced to three years probation in Waushara County.
