WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — The Grand Theater in downtown Wausau has been named one of the top theatres in the world by online publication Pollstar.
The publication ranks The Grand 143rd out of 200 venues in Pollstar’s end of year recap. The Grand placed last year as well in the top 150.
Executive Director of The Grand Sean Wright told WAOW-TV he credits the staff and the community for the ranking. “To be ranked as one of the top theaters in the world is really amazing for a community like ours. And it just says something about the community that we live in and all the wonderful things that are happening in Wausau.”
The Grand has had 19 sold out shows this year. Pollstar also recognized the theater as 5th for those venues with a capacity of 1,300 or less and 2nd for market size.
