NEW YORK, NY (WSAU) Giannis Antetokounmpo shined brightly on Christmas Day with 30 points and 14 rebounds in the Bucks 109-95 win over the Knicks. It was the first time since 1977 that the Bucks played in one of the league’s featured games during the holiday.
Giannis got off to an unusual start, blowing a dunk as the ball flew out of his hangs, clanged off the rim, and landed on the other side of the court. ”I was so excited that I went a little bit too high and I thought the rim was a foot taller,” Antetokounmpo said. He won conference player of the month earlier this week.
Brook Lopez added another 20 and Malcolm Brogdon had 17 for the Bucks.
They recovered from a season low 87 points in their Saturday loss in Miami. In that game the Bucks managed only 8 points in the first quarter.
The Bucks improved their record to 23-10, the second best in the NBA.
Kevin Knox led the Knicks with 21 points. New York has lost 6-straight games on Christmas Day.
