WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Four local lawmakers will meet on Thursday to announce a proposal designed “to help middle-class families.”
Representative Pat Snyder of Schofield, John Spiros of Marshfield, Bob Kulp of Stratford, and Scott Krug of Nekoosa have announced a joint news conference at 2510 Restaurant in Wausau to reveal details of the plan.
No further information was given, but the announcement comes on the same day that Assembly Speaker Robin Vos said that a tax cut for middle-class residents was one thing he hoped to work with Democratic Governor Tony Evers on during the upcoming session.
“I want to look at the things that Governor Evers offered where we can find support, and I think trying to reduce income taxes is a worthy goal,” said Vos. “I would hope that the promise that he made in the campaign to cut taxes for the middle class would be more than just a promise.”
Thursday’s news conference begins at 10:30 AM.
