STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — The UWSP mens basketball team beat UW-Eau Claire 89-61 in the first round of the WIAC Tournament on Tuesday night at Quandt Fieldhouse. It was Pointer coach Bob Semling’s 300 the career victory.
The Pointers used a 30-13 run to open the 2nd half and pull away. Etan Bublitz led four Pointers in double figures with 19 points. Blake Ehrke had career highs with 13 points and 11 rebounds for his first career double-double. Nate Dodge had 14 points and Canon O’Heron added 12.
The Pointers move to the conference tournament semi-finals on Thursday at UW-Oshkosh.
The UWSP womens basketball team begins WIAC Tournament play tonight at UW-La Crosse.
