NASHVILLE, TN and GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) — The Green Bay Packers continued to give their defense a face-lift on Day 3 of the NFL’s first-year player draft in Nashville.
of the four selections the team had in rounds 4-7, three were spent on the defensive side of the ball.
With the 150th pick in Round Five, the team selected Defensive Lineman Kingsley Keke out of Texas A & M.
In Round Six, they went for Ka’Dar Hollman, a Defensive Back from the University of Toledo at 150. Then at pick 185 in the same round, they took Notre Dame Running Back Dexter Williams.
With their lone selection in the 7th round, Green Bay selected Texas Christian University LB Ty Summers.
Green Bay did not have a 4th-round pick.
Of the eight players Green Bay selected over the three-day event, five play on the defensive side of the ball.
Following the completion of the draft, Green Bay was able to begin contract negotiations with any other draft-eligible player that wasn’t taken to bring their roster up to the 90 players allowed for training camp. Green Bay is expected to release their full Undrafted Free Agent (UFA) class Sunday night or Monday.
