ABBOTSFORD, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – Police were at the Home Motel in Abbotsford in connection with an officer involved shooting. Authorities have roped off the entire building with crime tape.
A law enforcement source says a suspect is in custody, and there is no further danger to the public.
One person was airlifted from the scene. It’s not clear what their involvement with the incident is.
Lieutenant Jeffrey Stefonek from the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department told WAOW-TV that the incident is related to the officer-involved shooting in Athens. He provided no further details.
Authorities were waiting for the Division of Criminal Investigation to arrive. DCI officials continue to investigate the scene of the shooting in Athens. Shots were fired along Highway 29 around 9pm Thursday. Details surrounding that case are still pending.
