Another classic rock legend is coming to Wausau. Justin Hayward, who was the lead vocalist, guitarist and main songwriter for the Moody Blues will be at the Grand Theater on Thursday August 8th. Tickets go on sale this Friday. Hayward has been in the music biz for nearly 50 years and has written such classics as Tuesday Afternoon and Nights In White Satin, both from the groundbreaking LP Days Of Future Passed in 1967. He released LPs through 2013, many with old partner John Lodge but also some really good solo work. Don't miss your chance to see another Rock & Roll Hall of Famer grace the stage at the Grand. Do you remember how Ron Dayne used to wear down defenses when he played for the Badgers? Another former Packer has passed away. Running back MacArthur Lane died Saturday at the age of 77. He teamed with John Brockington to form a potent backfield from 1972-74.
It's a special East/West baseball game tonight as the two teams face off at Athletic Park. The Park Department charges a bundle to play at AP these days but West decided to pay the freight so the kids can experience a game under the lights. It really is sad that the Park Dept has chosen to charge what they do for the youth of the city to use a public park and it has and will eventually price the youth programs out of using the facility. I will have the game live tonight at 7:30 or so on Foxsports Radio AM1390 & FM 93.9.
