MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) — The new state-of-the-art multi-sport stadium being built for the Marshfield School District should be ready by mid-August, just in time for this fall’s high school football season.
That’s according to Joe Dolezal from The Boson Company who says the project is really starting to take shape. “Our stadium seating area is in place right now. Then we’ll go back and finish our guard rails around the perimeter of it. And while that’s all going on, we are building the concession building and that’s up and soon we’ll be painting.”
Dolezal said the westside bleachers for the home team fans are already in place, and the eastside seating for visiting fans should be finished by mid-June.
The original plans for the stadium have undergone one change. According to Dolezal, everything is now on one level improving accessibility. “If you pull up to the stadium, just drive right in, walk right in. So very simple for mom’s with strollers, or anything like that. It’s just wonderful.”
The project also includes the construction of baseball and softball fields near the high school, as well as major upgrades to Beell Stadium and the track at the Marshfield middle school.
A football, softball, and track-and-field practice area just to the east of Beell Stadium will also get redone, and will double as grass-surfaced parking to accommodate large spectator events.
The entire athletic facilities project for the school district should be completed by the end of the year.
