NEILLSVILLE, WI (WSAU) — Organizers of the 2022 Farm Technology Days in Clark County have opened the process of selecting a host farm for the event.
Between now and September 9th, 2019 farmers can submit their applications to host the event through the Clark County Extension Office. Applications can be picked up at the office in Neillsville. Applications will also be mailed out.
The show requires over 400 acres of land including 250 acres dedicated for field demonstrations involving tillage and hay harvest. Seventy acres are required for the “tent city” exhibits, and another 80 acres will be dedicated for parking.
If one farmer does not have enough land, but still wants to be involved they can file a joint application with one of their neighbors. In the past, it has been common for two families to partner together as hosts for FTD.
The 2019 Farm Tech Days will be hosted in Jefferson County at Walter’s Grain Farm near Johnson Creek. In 2020 the show goes to Eau Claire County’s Huntsinger Farms. Then in 2021, the show returns to Jefferson County to be hosted at the county fairgrounds.
Further questions about hosting duties should be directed to Richard Halopka at the Clark County Extension office at (715)-743-5121 or richard.halopka@wisc.edu.
