TOWN of BRADLEY, WI (WSAU) — An Illinois man has been seriously injured following a jet ski accident on Lake Nokomis.
At 1 p.m. on Friday, August 2nd, 911 received a call of a jet ski crash. The call notified responders that the victim, a 26-year-old man from Bartlett, IL, was being brought to shore at the Nokomis Drive boat landing in the Town of Bradley.
The investigating deputy says the operator of the jet ski collided with another jet ski after losing control of the watercraft in the wake of a boat. After the crash, the victim was found floating facedown in the water.
Witnesses were able to remove him from the water and bring him to shore. Paramedics treated the victim before he was brought to a landing zone where the Tomahawk and Nokomis Fire Departments were waiting. He was then flown by a Spirit helicopter to the trauma center at Aspirus. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the incident.
The DNR and the Lincoln County Rec. Deputy is continuing an investigation into the incident.
