MARSHFIELD, WI (WSAU) — Attendance was ‘up’ at this year’s Central Wisconsin State Fair in Marshfield by around 30% compared to last year.
That’s according to fair director Dale Christiansen who says preliminary figures put this year’s attendance at about 45,000, and that mother nature was a huge help. “The fair was blessed with some beautiful weather, and it helped us pull off our event quite well,” Christiansen reported.
Also in regard to this year’s fair, Marshfield police chief Rick Gramza said a new policy permitting open containers of alcohol in most area of the fairgrounds for the first time went off without a hitch, and that there were no problems reported.
