WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) — A former Wausau firefighter accused of sexually assaulting a female patient in the back of an ambulance will have a plea hearing on Tuesday instead of a trial, according to court records.
WAOW TV reports Clifford Heiser was originally scheduled for a four-day trial this week, but on Monday court records showed a plea hearing instead of a trial.
The 34-year-old is accused of assaulting the patient back in 2017 while she was being taken to a hospital.
Officials say they found his saliva on her breast. Heiser resigned after the allegations.
