RIB MOUNTAIN, WI (WSAU) — A 36-year-old man is facing homicide charges from a parking lot crash that killed his passenger.
Enrique Sanchez has been charged with homicide by intoxicated use of vehicle, homicide by use of a controlled substance and first-degree recklessly endangering safety. The charges stem from an August 25th crash on a service road between Rocky Rocco and Kohls.
Sanchez was driving at a high rate of speed when he struck a light pole, a tree, and another vehicle. The crash resulted in his car rolling over and his passenger Danielle Dahlquist dying from her injuries in the crash. Sanchez was also injured in the crash.
Investigators say Sanchez was found with the chemical compound, 1-difluoroethane in his blood after the crash. The compound is used in electronic cleaners. There was also evidence of cocaine and fentanyl in his system.
Before the crash, Sanchez and Dahlquist bought electronic cleaner from Wal-mart. The two cans of duster spray had been used before the crash.
Sanchez is being held on a $100,000 bond and will return to court on November 6th for a review hearing.
